Montana’s educator shortage is one of the worst in the country, and it’s not just teachers. Paraprofessionals, school nurses, and other school staff are also in short supply, especially in rural communities.
That indicates this isn’t just a recruitment issue; it’s a working conditions issue across the entire school workforce.
If we want people to stay, we have to improve pay, respect, and support for everyone who works in our schools.
As MFPE President, I will prioritize organizing at the local level so members can win better conditions for all educators, not just a few.
